The Economic Events Calendar is for U.S. economic events only. If you trade currencies, you'll want to use an international calendar that includes events in the countries (or regions) you are trading. The calendar helps you plan by pointing out potential market moving events like the FOMC meeting announcements. It is important to check it before putting trades, especially weekly option trades that have more price risk built into them.
The Earnings Calendar helps you find stocks that will be reporting earnings. I built a tool while I was a Sheridan Mentoring student to analyze the price movement of stocks before and after earnings. The tool broke when my source of earnings dates changed. I have re-coded part of it to pull the data from a new source. I am in the middle of re-writing it in PHP so it works on a unix server. Once that is done, I'll be able to bring the tool back to life here.
